An update...

Hey folks,

Just wanted to give you an update on my Running For Livestock effort. Friday, November 21st was my last day in the Navy, and the weekend was spent driving cross-country from Virginia to Texas. We're doing our best to get settled in, but the schedule's been pretty full with the fast-approaching holiday and the on-going job search. The movers arrive with our stuff on Tuesday, so I should have some time to knock out a few more miles later next week.

Hope all is well!

A Donation From Afar!

Another donation has just hit the books, friends! My pal Marky has made a generous contribution to the cause, which puts us over the $200 mark! For you, my friend, I will plug an invigorating Scottish tune into the MP3 player for my running pleasure. Any recommendations?

Miles I still need to run: 9
Miles I've already run: 12
Total contributions: $210

A Sunday Morning Jaunt

Got up early today and went for a nice jog, despite the chilly weather. It was 43 degrees and my body was still stiff from having just woken up, but it was quiet and peaceful on this Sunday morning. Six more miles down, just six more to go!

Miles I still need to run: 6
Miles I've already run: 12
Total contributions: $180

Hope you're all having a great weekend!

When It Rains...

Holy Catfish, Batman! Yesterday's pleasant run amidst a light drizzle turned into a man-versus-nature deathmatch. Wind and Rain and Crazy Drivers tested the limits of my endurance. My ever-accommodating wife snapped a few pictures upon my return, THEN handed me a towel. How sweet.

Thanks for stopping by, and thanks for supporting our global community.

Hittin' the Pavement

Wow! When I got home today, the donation counter had spiked to $180. I owe Jan ten miles. Thanks, Mom!

Here's my first attempt at dabbling with video. Please, no laughing. I can hear you.

I knocked out six miles today, which still leaves me with quite a few to go. Keep 'em coming!

The Donations Are Coming In!

Heya folks. I'm happy to report that as of this morning, I've rallied $80 in contributions to Heifer International. Looks like I owe Lee Ann and Debbie 8 miles! Thanks, guys! The weather is supposed to be nice tomorrow, so I'll be hittin' the pavement to knock a few of those miles out. Keep the contributions coming in, 'cause I'm running for cows, man!

Running For Livestock

Hello, and Welcome to Running for Livestock!

This Holiday Season, I've committed myself to supporting Heifer International in their effort to serve struggling communities across the globe. Help me, and you will have the opportunity to give a pig, goat, cow or even baby chicks to a community in need. Heifer International creates opportunities for communities to heal and regrow through the gift of renewable resources.

I am joining Patrick Rothfuss in support of Heifer International. You can check out his inspirational words here.

This is Running for Livestock: For every $10 you donate to Heifer International through my donation page, I will run a mile in your name. Check this blog regularly to track my progress, and visit the site below to make your own donation:
